اخرج ابن جرير وابن المنذر وابن ابي حاتم وابن مردويه عن ابن عباس رضي الله عنهما ‏{‏يصلون‏}‏ يتبركون‏.‏

Al-‘Abbās said when Allāh says, "Send prayer (on the Prophet)," [33:56] it means to seek blessings.

واخرج عبد بن حميد وابن ابي حاتم عن ابي العالية رضي الله عنه قال‏:‏ صلاة الله عليه‏:‏ ثناؤه عليه عند الملائكة، وصلاة الملائكة عليه‏:‏ الدعاء له‏.‏

Abū al-‘Alīyyah said:

Allāħ's praising of him is His Tribute to him in the presence of the angels. And the praising of the angels is the supplication for him .
