Q. Regarding the issue of inheritance from non-Muslims: I am
not sure I understand this issue vis-a-vis permissibility of
inheriting property, capital, and other forms of wealth from
them. The same issue pertains to leaving wealth for non-Muslims.
In my case, these non-Muslims are blood relatives. The
literature, to include Qur'an, I have read on this topic seems to
assume all people with the legal claim to the inheritance are
Muslim. Could someone expand on this topic?
Muslim may inherit from a non-Muslim but not vice-versa. This
is what my shaykh said.
