Born in England, became a Muslim at the age of 19. He is married with two children. He comes from a distinguished family and his father was a famous architect. Abdal Hakim Murad has an MA in Arabic and Oriental Studies, and is a candidate for D. Phil. He lived in Maddinat al Buhooth and studied usul extensively at al-Azhar while studying Qur’ anic recitation in an institute affiliated with al-Azhar. He also worked in Saudi Arabia as a para-legal doing translations. Abdal Hakim Murad was Publisher and Editor for the Quillian Press and General Editor of the Islamic Texts Society’s Ghazali Series. His translations are of the highest caliber his translation of Ghazali’s The Remembrance death and the Afterlife received wide acclaim an his translations of as-Sayyid Mashur al-Haddad are excellent resources for issues of spirituality in Islam.
