We understand that we run to the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinatu ’l-Munawarra, because Sayyīdinā Muhammad (s) is there. What about the Holy Ka`bah in Makkatu ‘l-Mukarrama? There must be someone who is making us run there. We say, “It is the House of Allah (swt),” and we direct our face toward it, but Allah (swt) said to the Holy Prophet (s):
ما وسعني أرضي ولا سمائي ولكن وسعني قلب عبدي المؤمن
Neither My Heavens nor My Earth contain Me, but the heart of My Believing Servant contains Me.75
Isn’t the Holy Ka`bah part of Heavens and Earth? Of course, it is, and Allah (swt) also said in a Holy Hadith, qalb al-mu’min bayt ar-rabb, “The heart of the Believer is the House of the Lord.” You have a House in your heart, but you have to be a Believer in order to see it; you have to be in a race, a struggle against Shayţān to remove these veils to see.
That Baytullah in your heart is a duplicate of Ka`batullah in Makkah! That is to make sure that your home becomes mazhar tajallīyaat mina ‘l-asmaa’i wa ‘s-sifaat, “The Light (or appearance) of the Manifestations of Allah’s Beautiful Names and Attributes.” When your heart is like that, then it is aamina, safe. So, enter your heart, enter your “inn,” say “Allah!” and “lā ilāha illa ’Llāh!” and then you are safe.
So, Grandshaykh `Abd Allah ق asked, “What is the landmark of the Ka`bah?” He said, “There is one, known by Awlīyāullāh, whom Allah (swt) called ‘Yameen Allah `ala ‘l-ard,’ the Right Hand of Allah (swt) on Earth,” meaning, Allah’s Power on Earth, as Ibn `Abbās (r) said in a Hadith:
حَدِيث ابْن عَبَّاس رَضِي الله عَنهُ انه قَالَ: الْحجر الْأسود يَمِين الله فِي الأَرْض يُصَافح بهَا عباده أَو قَالَ خلقه كَمَا يُصَافح النَّاس بَعضهم بَعْضً
Indeed, Hajar al-Aswad, the Black Stone is Allah’s Right Hand on Earth; through it He shakes hands with His servants.76
Hajar al-Aswad is the Walī’s window to Paradise; he is always present, sitting at that corner, and when Awlīyāullāh visit, they see him! So, Allah (swt) dressed him in that dress.
Today, you see the army standing there to move people because it is too crowded. Grandshaykh ق said, “If that Walī’s presence was not there, no one would come! His presence is like a magnet attracting millions of people around the world. He looks at the Preserved Tablets, al-Lawh al-Mahfouzh, and sees whose names are written to come that year, and then sends inspiration to their hearts to perform Hajj. That is his duty.”
Don’t say, “O, this is too much!” You didn’t hear anything yet! This is like the ABC’s in kindergarten. When Mahdi (as) comes, there will be knowledge that has never been heard before.
So, he said, “When someone’s name is mentioned on the Preserved Tablets as destined to make Hajj that year, the Walī who is present there sends a message to his heart,” just as today they send an SMS. If someone in the East is able to send someone in the West a message by hitting a key, a Walī cannot do that? Can he not send a message to the heart? As soon as he sends the message, he calls them. He is like a magnet; everything runs to him. He is the governor of Makkah, the hidden, spiritual one!
We are not yet speaking about his maqām, station, as we will leave that for later, but at that time Grandshaykh ق added, “I am that one whom the Prophet (s) gave that specialty to be present at that spot at Hajar al-Aswad, and I am dressing that to Shaykh Nazim ق as my successor! Without that presence, no one will go there.” What kind of a maqām or level Allah (swt) gave, we will leave alone.
