73 Groups and Only One in Paradise

Question:

I am new in Islam, and have read that at the end of the age the Muslimeen will be parted into 73 groups. only one will be in paradise, that is Ahlu ‘s-Sunnah wa ‘l-Jama`ah. The scholar interpretate that Ahlu ‘s-Sunnah refers to Salafi, but on the other hand, I’ve been informed that Salafi da`wah is a deviation. Anybody can help me please clarify since we are intending to perform our life according to Sunnah and Qur’an. and the one who are closest to this practise is the Companions, Tabi`in, they are all according to my knowledge is the Salafu ‘s-saleh,and their method is Salafi da`wah.

Answer:

Salafi” is the name of a new school that claims to follow no school in Islam. We call this “la-madhhabiyya.”

Da`wa is da`wa to Islam, and our understanding of Islam is that of the majority of Muslims since the beginning of Islam until now. They are known as Ahl al-Sunna wa al-Jama`a, not “Salafis.” Shaykh Hisham Kabbani examined this question comprehensively in his book Islamic Beliefs and Doctrine According to Ahl al-Sunna: A Repudiation of “Salafi” Innovations, in seven volumes.

May Allah guide us to the right path, the path shown by the Prophet and followed by the Companions, the Tabi`in, and all those who follow them until Qiyama.
